Tonight – Winter 2015 M33M

You’ve been waiting for months and finally the big day is here. Tonight is the the Michigan Movie Makers Winter 2015 Micro Movie Marathon (M33M), complete with a new venue, 2000 marbles and 42 hand crafted home brewed movies from our north western Michigan. Yes, there’s other stuff to see and do this evening in Traverse City, but only 530 people are going be able to tell all about the first time M33M deployed at the State Theatre and how THEY were there! Free and open to the public.

Tonight from 6:30-8:30 PM over 90 minutes of 3 minute or shorter movies will be screened, carefully selected from over over 2 hours of entries. There are no previews, show starts promptly at 6:30 PM with a brief explanation of the Major Awards which you the audience will decide. M33M is equal parts interactive improvisation, performance art, regional cinema, industry building, community advocacy and FUN.

We’ve re-imagined our trusty system of nearly instant voting to (hopefully) handle an audience a magnitude larger than anything M33M has previously hosted. Here the lovely and capable Australian Marble Ballot Specialist, Louise Somerville prepares marble shots following rigorous technical standards.
