 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Micro Movie Marathon (M33M) is a festival of 3 minute or shorter movies from, about or inspired by the Northwestern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Organized by the Michigan Movie Makers as an informal inventory of the regional movie industry, M33M celebrates 5 years in 2015 at the State Theatre in downtown Traverse City, Northern Michigan’s premiere venue for independent film on February 18, from 6:30-8:30 PM, totally free and open to the public.

All Michigan movie makers are encouraged to enter, including entrepreneurs, artists, students and enthusiasts. Every genre is welcome – trailers for longer projects, sneak previews, short form narrative, mini documentaries, music videos, spoofs, show reels, experimental, commercials, promotional, animation and work beyond category. All movies entered must be 3 minutes or shorter to be considered.

The festival finishes with a hilarious and mildly chaotic audience participation voting scheme, the Australian Marble Ballot, to determine which movies receive the coveted Major Awards and the outrageous Golden Reboot, a second chance for entries that didn’t win from last year’s TCFF bumper contest.

Deadline for entries is February 16 at 11:59 PM. Entry guidelines are available at http://michiganmoviemakers.com/blog/m33m/

Parents should exercise caution when bringing kids under 16 to M33M, as the movies are unrated by the MPAA and can include irreverent humor, romantic situations, spooky scariness and other content that may be unsuitable for young children.
