April 25, 2012 – Crowd Funding

This Wednesday, Andrea Maio talks about how to pay for independent projects through crowd funding resources like Kickstarter. She’ll bring Aubrey Levy of Mobcaster to us via Skype, discuss her own experience with Mobcaster with her project “Back to Your Senses” and interview two other filmmakers using crowd funding. If you ever wondered how to actually get paid for your dream project, this is meeting is a must.

May 23, 2012 – Interview with Randy Vasquez

Randy Vasquez has enjoyed a 20 plus year career as an actor in television and film as well as being an accomplished documentary filmmaker.  Vasquez is probably best known for his four year stint on the television show JAG as Gunnery Sgt. Victor ‘Gunny’ Galindez.

Following a clip from his documentary, The Thick Dark Fog, Randy Vasquez will Skype in to speak on the use of dramatic re-enactments to enhance documentary and educational films. He’ll also discuss working with actors in the SAG, auditions and take questions from the audience.

June 27, 2012 – Symptoms of Storytelling with Jeff Gibbs
