This was my first year viewing the Traverse City Film Festival from the inside out. I volunteered for the video team headed up by the gregarious Thaddeus Bedford of Liquid Image Inc. Because of the M3 event On Wednesday at the Filmmakers Loft, I couldn’t volunteer until Thursday afternoon. When I walked in Thaddius had just received a request from Deb Lake to whip up a 3-6 minute festival retrospective for the Awards Ceremony. Andrew Templeton, Megan Stockemer, Jarvis Rolle and Thaddius did beaucoup shooting with support from the likes of Joe Carter and ~20 other volunteer camera jockeys. Aside from the innumerable attendees and volunteers playing themselves, we were lucky to have Harold Kranick as Charlie Chaplin. Daniel Gorman and I handled the edit. We worked all day Friday until about 2:00 am Saturday morning then back in the saddle by 8:30 am until the deadline at 12:00 pm. We met Deb in Horizon Books for her thumbs up. Thaddius heard from Deb that Micheal liked it too, yeah!

So aside from the M3 party on Wednesday and half of a film school session, I spent the entire TCFF editing. Whoo! Actually, it was quite fun. Looking forward to finding the panels and film school sessions online eventually.
Michigan Movie Makers made it into Sunday’s Record Eagle, “Everybody wants to be in movies” by Vanessa McCray.
I’d like to read about other folks TCFF experience. Blog it up people!
