M3 Open Studio: Film, Food, Fun

Last Saturday was the Open Studio event for Michigan Movie Makers. We gathered at Mark and Lisa Eiden’s home to shoot some scenes for Mark’s movie, “FORK”. The day was frigid and snowy, yet 20 film fanatics showed up for the first collaborative production venture undertaken by our collection of wonderful and interesting people.

Mark’s wife Lisa was in charge of Craft Services. She literally cooked all day to feed this tribe a delectable smorgasbord : 3 kinds of chili, snacks, brownies, unlimited coffee and hot beverages, and the most wonderful pickle dip you will ever taste.

Mark started us off with a production meeting and a round of introductions.

Everyone was given a job to do.  For some, this was a first time experience.

Others were old hands and took up camera and boom, and gloves and hats and foot warmers, thoughtfully provided by the film’s Russian assassin, Dan Kelly.

The outdoor crew shot for nearly 3 hours before coming in for lunch.

After the crew got warm and full, another three hours of shooting took place, right up until dark chased them indoors.
